The Little RV Visits...How Do You Pronounce That Again?

First things first; you'll see the name Mackinac all over the area and if you pronounce it like it is spelled you're incorrect.
mak-uh-nak = wrong
mak-uh-naw = correct
Go figure...

Yesterday morning it rained really hard for several hours.  There was so much water it looked like there was a lake behind the Little RV which is the lowest spot on the casino grounds.  It was beginning to look like we'd be trapped inside all day when suddenly the rain stopped so we got all fluffed up and headed out to see the sights.

As soon as we hit town we noticed there were dozens of old tractors being driven down the road.

Little did we know, yesterday was the day of the Mackinac Bridge Tractor Parade. Last year there were over 1000 tractors in the parade. All tractors must be at least 40 years old to participate.

Next we crossed the bridge from St. Ignace to Mackinaw City.  There were still tractors coming across the bridge.

Just over the bridge there was a park and a lighthouse along Lake Huron so we stopped to wander around.

After our long tourist day we went back to the casino and came out even.  Rob lost $20 and I won $21.

  1. In those pictures of the tractor bridge parade, the tractor in that first picture is like the one I used to have. It did a lot of work around my place. Thanks for letting us know the correct pronunciation of Mackinac. It was a good thing that you gambled, too, otherwise you two would have been in the minus column.

    1. Dizzy, Rob took more tractor photos yesterday. There are some really old ones in the batch. I'll put them in my next post.
