Easter Plans and Travel Plans for the Little RV

Sunday is Easter and we are hosting this year.  Rob's family are coming to our "house" for Easter dinner.  Since it is supposed to be 80 degrees we'll be grilling and eating our Easter dinner outside. I've got the menu planned and groceries purchased and plan to do most of the cooking ahead tomorrow so I can enjoy the day.

For dessert I'm making cupcakes with Cadbury Cream Eggs baked inside.  I found them on Pinterest.  If you've never been on Pinterest, check it out.  It's a veritable goldmine of ideas and eye candy.

The Little RV has an Altercation with the Crazy Bird Lady

Bright and early this morning, like all mornings, I got up, got dressed and took Grant out to attend to his morning business.  The only place to take him is across the street along the intracoastal.  There is a nice grass strip about 4 blocks long bordered on one side by the Indian River Drive and a sea wall on the other.  The only other places to take him are too far to walk so we have to take him in the truck.

Getting the Little RV Ready to Hit the Road

Yesterday was one of those days that required me to wear my big girl panties.  It was a nice cool day so it was perfect to work outside.  We had stuff to do and I was determined to do as much of it as I could.  I was learning as I went along with Rob guiding the way.

The Little RV Pulls Out in Just 10 Short Days

We are scheduled to depart our current location in just 10 days.  It's time to start planning and getting things ready to go.  We still don't know where we are going but we'll be ready when the time comes.

Rob and I have been talking about visiting Everglades National Park.  We checked on some of the campgrounds in the park but they don't seem to allow pets.  Perhaps one too many have been snapped up by a hungry alligator?   That will certainly not be Grant's fate.

Today is supposed to be a cool day with low humidity so outside things are on our agenda today.  We got that flat tire on the Little RV the day we arrived at our current location.  We got a new tire to replace the damaged one but the spare is still on the RV.   We'll be changing them out today and getting the spare stored back under the RV where it belongs.

Recently one of the cabinet doors in the bedroom came off in my hand when I opened it.  Yes, we have cabinet door issues.  In fact we have lots of issues.  Yesterday Rob made an appointment with the service department in Oregon where we purchased the Little RV.  We plan to get any outstanding warranty work done before the original warranty expires.  We WILL be purchasing an extended warranty.

So, this morning I'm making today's To Do List while I drink my coffee and watch the sun come up over the water.

The Little RV Attends a Birthday Celebration

Saturday was Rob's mom's birthday.  Everyone calls her Sue-Sue so I'll call her that here.  Sue-Sue loves the dog races so all of us, (Sue-Sue, Rob's sister, Lesa, her husband, John, and their kids, Kristen and Joseph) met us at the Palm Beach Kennel Club for an afternoon of betting on the dogs.

The Little RV and the Beast, Reunited at Last

Last fall, just a few short weeks after we started our full-time adventure we had a bit of an accident with the Beast (our truck) and our RV. Basically, we dropped the Little RV on to the the truck resulting in a badly crushed truck bed.  You can read all about it in this post. A few weeks ago we took the truck in for repairs and yesterday we got it back. It was in the shop one day shy of 4 weeks but It's absolutely gorgeous.  Good as new even!

The Little RV Celebrates 6 Months and goes to Spring Training

Yesterday was our 6-month anniversary as full-timers! As they say, time flies when you're having fun.

Roger Dean Stadium, Jupiter, Florida
Major League Baseball (MLB) is broken into two leagues for spring training.  There is the Cactus League in Arizona and the Grapefruit League here in Florida.  There are several teams who have their spring training facilities very near us.  Yesterday, together with some of Rob's family, we went to Jupiter, FL to watch a game between the Marlins and the Cardinals

Technology in the Little RV

One of the most difficult things to figure out when we started preparing to go full time in the Little RV as how to stay connected.  We knew we needed internet access and we wanted television reception of some sort but we didn't want to attach anything to the roof that may cause a leak down the road.

Chicken Tikka Masala - Low Sodium Version

We love Indian food.  My absolute favorite is chicken tikka masala.  What's not to love?  It's spicy, rich and thick and oh so good served over basmati rice and with a steamy chunk of naan.
