The Little RV Tours Mobile, Alabama

It was absolutely gorgeous out today.  After that storm yesterday it was cool and the humidity was very low.  My kind of weather!  We finally got to tour Mobile and enjoyed it very much.  The first stop was to take a look at the Carnival Triumph.  The infamous cruise ship that was stalled at sea late this winter for several days with overflowing toilets, no food and no air circulation.  Not really much of a tourist attraction but more of a curiosity.

Docked nearby was the USS Alabama.  The Alabama was commissioned in 1942 and served in World War II in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.  We also saw the USS Drum, a submarine from the same time period

There were also a number of aircraft and tanks.
We drove on into downtown Mobile.  This building caught our attention because the architecture is so beautifulThe building is used as a regional planning office.

After checking out the city we drove to Dauphin Island. Dauphin Island is on the west side of Mobile Bay.
There island is very small but very beautiful.

Fort Gaines is located at the very end of the island.
More photos of the fort.
We ended today with a gorgeous sunset over The Little RV.
Tomorrow we're off to Mississippi!

  1. Now, when you get to Texas you can visit the Battle Ship Texas. It was in both the first and second world wars and Korea, maybe more. It has quite the history.
