The Little RV Attends a Birthday Celebration

Saturday was Rob's mom's birthday.  Everyone calls her Sue-Sue so I'll call her that here.  Sue-Sue loves the dog races so all of us, (Sue-Sue, Rob's sister, Lesa, her husband, John, and their kids, Kristen and Joseph) met us at the Palm Beach Kennel Club for an afternoon of betting on the dogs.

We stayed for eight or nine races.  I was the only one who won and my winnings were only $12.60. Well, I almost broke even.  Seems like the birthday girl should have won something.

When the third race started the #8 dog apparently got distracted and came out onto the track when the other dogs were about half way around.  He spotted "Rusty", the thing the dogs are trying to catch during the race, and turned around.  #8 was running the wrong direction, then he joined the pack, turned around and just then, Rusty stopped.  All the dog pounced.  Everyone in the club erupted in laughter and exclamation.  Needless to say, the race was void but we witnessed something that doesn't happen every day.  We mingled with some very important local um, celebrities?

There was a man making balloon creations for the kids.  Kristen scored turtle bracelet and Joseph got a duck hat.  He also made Sue-Sue a bouquet of flowers.

Then it was off to the Cheesecake Factory for an early dinner.  If you have never eaten there, go.  I love the food and the services is great.  You can't beat the cheesecake and there are dozens of choices.  We ended up with Oreo, Pineapple Upside-down Cake, Lemon-Raspberry, and Chocolate Peanut Butter cheesecakes.  We all got a taste of each.  They were so good.  Oh, dinner was good too.   The wait staff brought Sue-Sue's cheesecake out as a group and sang Happy Birthday to her.
Check out that hunk of cheesecake!
Happy Birthday Sue-Sue!
